Like many New Zealanders, our family loves to spend time in nature. We recently spent Wellington Anniversary Weekend at our family hut in the Orongorongo Valley where my seven year old son had a blast swimming in the river and exploring nearby bush tracks.
We have a log book at our hut to record all our adventures and comments from visitors. Our first log book started in 1981 and details my first visit at six weeks old then follows hundreds more visits to the hut as my sister and I grew up.
Our log books inspired me to create a kids journal so my son and other children growing up in the valley were encouraged to share their own experiences. If your family loves adventures in nature, you can download and print your own adventure journals for your kids to record their experiences.
